Staff Software Engineer

Onsite in Weston, FL

Pay : $63.33/hr. - $64.66/hr.

Duration: 10 months, Contract, W-2

Our Medical Technologies client is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer who can ramp up quickly, integrate seamlessly with an existing team, and begin delivering production-ready code within the first few weeks. They will design and implement complex concepts independently for our client's robotic-assisted surgery products. Work closely with the engineering teams and subject matter experts to develop market-leading software that meets customer and system requirements, following the defined design practices including Agile methodology and use sound software engineering principles to ensure that the application software products are safe, robust and user friendly.

Responsibilities:

* Quickly understand existing architecture, codebase, and development workflows.

* Independently design and develop software components per defined requirements and architecture, following design principles and coding standards.

* Collaborate closely with the Project Management team and other engineers to ensure project success as a technical member of the team.

* Follow defined SDLC procedures to ensure software quality through code review, unit and component tests, code analysis, and defect management.

* Author software engineering documentation following R&D procedure per the Quality Management System.

* Clearly communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science or related discipline & 4+ years of work experience.

* Demonstrated proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented programming in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Prior contractor or consulting experience with a record of success joining teams mid-stream and ramping up quickly.

* Experience in Qt/QML framework, Linux, and/or Docker is a strong plus.

* Demonstrated knowledge of full SDLC and Agile software development with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, unit testing, code coverage, CI/CD, security, and task/defect/requirement management.

* Demonstrated knowledge of linear algebra, computational geometry, computer graphics, and software architecture design (e.g., design patterns and software modeling).

* Experience in medical imaging, image processing, computer vision, algorithm development, computer-assisted surgery, or robotics.

* Experience with biomedical software development or software development in a regulated environment.
